Komatsu’s on the (water)way
Three Komatsu HD785-8E0’s were shipped from our home base in Groot-Ammers, The Netherlands to Kemi, Finland. From there they travelled to their new place of work: iron ore mines in Sweden.
Two out of three machines were sent on their way without dump body. These were sent later and were built onto the machines locally. Still, these machines weighed around 69 tons each. With dump body attached they weigh around 85 tons. The three machines were shipped by pontoon from Groot-Ammers to Antwerp, thereafter they sailed to Kemi by ro-ro ship.
Nine big parts from a Komatsu PC2000-11E0 were also shipped to Kemi, with final destination Sweden. Our trucks brought them from Amsterdam to Antwerp. From there they were put on mafi’s to be shipped with a ro-ro vessel to Kemi. These parts were also assembled at the final delivery location. The parts included a main body, center frame, track frame and more, adding up to a total weight of approximately 176.5 tons. Some smaller parts travelled by road directly from Amsterdam to Sweden.
